What to do before, during, and after a turnkey kitchen renovation

The successful renovation of a kitchen has numerous steps and requires a good deal of preparation. One of the advantages of dealing with Cuisines Rive-Sud is to enjoy a true turnkey project. From the planning and design stages to the full execution of your project and the on-time procurement of all goods and materials, you will appreciate the personalized level of service of our skilled team.

Here is a list of things to do long before you start your project and up to its conclusion.

A few months before the start of the physical work

  • Dial 450 656-8660 to select the planning package best suited to your project;
  • Allow sufficient time to plan your new kitchen with your Cuisines Rive-Sud designer. Many steps are required: the in-depth analysis of your needs and desires, the taking of measurements, the presentation of a mood board, the development of plans and specifications, the preparation of a cost estimate and work schedule;

A few weeks before physical work begins

  • A member of our team will get in touch to establish a start date once all the required materials are received;
  • We keep all the required items in our warehouse to avoid any delay after an unforeseen out-of-stock situation.

A few days before your new kitchen starts to take form

  • Now’s the time to empty your old cupboards. Be sure to carefully label your boxes. Keep items you will need over the next few weeks close at hand and store those that will not be required before the end of the project;
  • You can set up a temporary kitchen in an area that won’t be affected by the work.

The last day of your old kitchen

  • It is important to clear the work areas and allocate space for materials storage and preparation;
  • Existing appliances must be removed and stored where they will not hinder the work or impede the movement of the workers. They must remain on-site to allow the checking of measurements if needed;
  • Protect all nearby furniture from unavoidable dust-ups;
  • Plan a closed area for pets as doors to the outside will often be opened.

During the installation of your new kitchen

  • At the start of each day, an accountable person in your household must be on hand. We will go over the work to be done during the day and answer any questions;
  • Any new appliance must be delivered the weekend prior to its installation.

Once the work is done

  • You must be present to verify that the work meets all your expectations;
  • You will survey all items to underline any requiring a correction or that are yet to be completed;
  • If you have selected a quartz or natural stone countertop, you will not have to suffer from the usual 2 to 3 weeks required for the preparation of its template, cutting, and installation. At Cuisines Rive-Sud, we order your new countertop based on our plans saving you the aggravation of any delay *. Our way of doing things speeds everything up. Another advantage of Cuisines Rive-Sud’s turnkey approach!

The next and following days

  • We handle the cleaning of the areas where the work took place. This allows us to double-check the conformity of the installation and you to enjoy your new kitchen immediately;
  • Thereafter, we recommend you clean your cabinets with a microfiber cloth. It is important to follow the recommendations of the Cuisines Rive-Sud maintenance guide to maintain your warranty;
  • If you notice any deficiency, let us know immediately so that we can quickly and efficiently take corrective action;
  • Don’t be surprised if our professional photographer gets in touch with you to capture the moment where your dream came true.
